I can testify through experience that a Silhouette cutter can't accurately cut very small circles, it makes them lopsided. The stepper motors they use combined with the software just literally don't cut it for doing very intricate small arcs.


But I have a Saga servo motor cutter that can handle that task quite nicely.

After 8 years a Refresh...,

Selection Spreadsheet

An update is in order since the last one 8 Years ago, comparison of various hobby plotter/cutters is here.

Seems that the cutter head technology could be adapted to Laser Diodes instead of cutting blades. Are patents in the way? Also, the manufacturers haven't a clue that paper models exist (?) Likely their marketing departments are too "crafty" to know the difference...,
