At the sign-in place of the forum, there is a check box that says "Remember Me?" I can see no difference if the box is checked or not. What am I missing?

That just means that you won't have to log in each time you visit the site. As long as you have cookies active, it'll remember your username and password.

If you check the box your user and password and remembered, so you don't need to type it every sign-on.
