In another post, this question of multiple pictures attached to a post was asked, and the OP wondered how to add more than just the original 5 pictures.
I have copied what I wrote, in order to help add to the knowledge base, and to fill any gaps.

In the advanced editor(also the same interface you get when starting a new post), using the manage attachments panel, you can attach up to 20 images.

After each set of 5 pictures, just hit upload, and after a few seconds you will see those first 5 pictures in a list below the area where you just added those 5 images.

In the images below, you can see the process, even if you happen to close the attachment window, you can still open it, and keep adding up to 20 images.

I didn't upload the images I used in the example, only the screen shots of the window to show the steps.

If you have any questions about this or any other image uploading question, I will be happy help out.

Rick

And note that in the examples Rick posted above, there is an "Attachment Key" below which lists all the allowed types of file attachments allowed, along with their file sizes and dimensions (where applicable) So it is easy to check this when loading.

If your files are too large they will just "hang" when loading.

I've always felt a tiny bit guilty about uploading my pictures to the forum and taking up server space, although I always resize them and lower the resolution first, to help with file size and load times. I post a lot of pics in my build threads.

So I've recently made the switch to 3rd party hosting (Imgur) which I really like because the "thumbnails" shown using this posting method are actually a lot larger, meaning people don't even have to click them to get a better look at the pictures.

The finished build pictures in my Scud thread (link below) were hosted on Imgur, while all the pics during the build were hosted on the forum. I still resized them first, to help with load times, I'm in the same boat as Kevin, if pics take too long to load I get impatient and move on.

Mike,

your initial link didn't quite work correctly, so I copied the link to the image, and pasted it place of your original one

I see a locomotive driving wheel

I haven't been completely successful in adding an image from Google Drive using the IMG tags, might have to check the help section over on Google

Image link

Yep...I used to do pics from my Google drive account but that doesn't seem to work anymore...and yes I was going to start a thread on the Big Boy 4-8-8-4. I was following Koolkik but it appears he is not able to complete it, for reasons unknown, been three years. So I bought the plans and started designing, tackled the hardest wheel first just to make sure I was up to it. Any thoughts you have on image posting would be great..

Is there a way to use a smartphone to upload photos and use the forum?

I use the same method I describe in the very first post, on my Android phone, or on an iPad.

I have Chrome for Android installed on my phone, and I use that as my browser, and it works just fine

If needed, I can take some phone screenshots to help you out, if you need it

Rick

Thanls. So that means the is no special native app (for iPhone and Android), as there is for some forums I use, to do that. I will test how easy it is to use just a browser!
