How To: post pictures to a thread

So, you want to add pictures to your thread?

Well, good news, there are a couple of different methods you can do this.
And I will try to guide you through the methods.

First up, the Attached Thumbnails method

To add pictures in this manner, You normally are in the Advanced Editor, where you can change all kinds of different settings.

To add the pictures scroll down the page until you see a new box, Additional Options.

To add the pictures, click on Manage Attachments, and this pop up window will appear.

Click on Choose File to add the picture, and browse to where your pictures are located.
Once you come back to the pop up window, click on Upload, that will add the pictures to the post.
You can close the window when you see the pictures come up.
You will also see the pictures listed under the Manage Attachments button.
And you can upload 20 pictures in the Manage Attachments method.

And once you have finished your thread, just click on Submit New Thread, and you will see your post, with pictures

Any questions, just ask

I will detail the other methods later on

Rick

rick I seem to be having some problems here? I get a message if i try to start a thread that i dont have priviliges and when I try to post a reply to the first thread a day it won't post. Is that because I changed the email account I used or am I in hot water over something I done?

Martin,

I see nothing in your profile that would prevent you from posting, what you might want to try is to log out, and delete the cookie related to this site, and then re log in

How do I place images "within" text?

I'm new here and have made a couple of posts with images that always show up at the bottom of the posting.

If I'd like to post some text, place and image and make a comment below it and then maybe another image..........

How do I do that? I don't quite seem to be able to figure this out?

Any help would be ?? Helpful;-)

when you make your post you need to be in post, not quick reply. There is a row of icons at the top one of them looks like a mountain with a yellow background - click that and put the address of the image. It MUST be hosted on the web for this to work as an inline image. You can put the images in the gallery here then link to them using this method.
Thanks
Chris

SF,

best way to do what you ask is to use an external hosting site, picasa, photobucket or similar

and then pasting the code they offer into the post, using the [img] tags

OK, I think I understand what needs to be done. If I can do it by linking to images that I place in an album on this site that should work. Is this the "Upload file from a URL" statement that I see on the Manage Attachments window when I post?

Otherwise, since I have no Facebook page, nor do I want one or anything similar, that option is out.
