Keying in the Automatic email alerts

I don't know what happened, but for the last month or so I have not been getting any email alerts when threads I am subscribed to are updated with new posts. I checked my settings to ensure I clicked the correct setting, and I did. To be sure I did it again at least two times, saved the setting, but still no email alerts.

Is anyone else having this problem? What can I do to fix this problem?

Cheers!
Jim

Just to be sure did you check your spam? Also possibly blocked by your ISP? I have been getting mine all right.

Thanks, Chris:

I adjusted my firewall filters to approve this webpage, so let's see if that works...I did check the spam mail but nothing there.

I appreciate the suggestions!

Cheers!

Yes, Jim... I too have been having the same problem. I finally realized what was causing it, when I noticed that none of the threads to which I am subscribed, had new posts!

Personally, a bit disappointing, since I posted a huge update to my Montana thread, and only had a couple of people notice it... :(

It was only today that I got the notification that Billy had updated Ken's SR-71 build thread.

Thanks, Lancer, but I still am not getting the emails, and I did add this forum to my "approved" webpages, but no change...really frustrating!

Cheers!

Jim:

Let's try something... Follow along with me.

Go to your "User CP" in the upper left corner of the top of the main website page.

Scroll down to the item on the table at left that reads "List Subscriptions" and then look at the list on the right side that comes up.

Do any of those say something other than "Instant"? If they do, you might just need to unsubscribe from the thread, and then resubscribe, making sure you have "Instant Notification" checked. Sometimes, message boards like this one have weird little things in their databases, and when they get a lot of traffic, it can cause glitches like this. I used to belong to another forum that used this same software, and whenever traffic was high, all sorts of odd things happened, like post counts being reset, unread post counts being way off, and similar things. It might be something you'll need an Admin to look at.

Hope this helps, my friend!
