FGMM Bell P-39 Airacobra

Finishing up the Galland 109 now and planning my next FG model, the P-39.
I'll be doing the "Snooks 2nd" version that was flown by Lt. William Shomo out of New Guinea in 1944.

I'll downscaled it from 1:30 to 1:33 to match most of my other models.
I'm hoping to do a cockpit interior and whatever embellishments I can think of. I need to do some research before I start cutting!

It goes together pretty easily; that's the one I modified to make peashooter strafers for my nephews.

Looking forward to seeing this. I didn't realize I had it in my FG collection, but I do.

I built that one along with the Panzer III for my son. He had lots of fun with it untill the panzer finally blasted it out of the sky!

Nice choice.
Good looking plane, and if you do as good a build as the 109, we're in for a treat!

I've been stalling on this one while I collected info and figured out what I was really going to do with it.
I'm going to go with wooden wheels as I found some in my pile the right size. I've pulled a clear form for the forward canopy that looks like it should work;

I'm putting together a "work" copy of the fuselage to take measurements for the cockpit interior and such. Mostly still planning, though!:D

Do you have a picture of yours, Bob? I still haven't gotten the hang of the tape canopies!:(

CJ, I hope these help. I scratched built the interior cockpit. I cut a piece of card stock to cover the rear of the canopy and the engine compartment. I just picked out a seat and instrument panel from FG that fit.:D Good luck, looking forward to your build.
