Your coloring is way more better than mine - how exactly did you do it.
Bumping in hopes of an answer to the same question

Also, how did you guys attach your taped canopies?

I remember reading the Ballantine War book, Stuka Pilot! when I was a kid. Since the airplane was a dive bomber, I always wondered how they measured Rudel's "aceness." I cannot remember if he actually shot down opposing aircraft.

Oh, CJW, kudos on the build. It just goes to show what can be done with a basic kit in the hands of someone who knows that they are doing.

I really liked the winter scheme and the technique you used to achieve the finish....genius!

My canopy is not tape. It is heat-formed plastic over a solid mold made using the original canopy as a pour mold. The canopy frames are then contact cemented on.

The canopy is 1/72 scale. The mold is Durham's Water Putty and Squadron Green Putty to fix flaws. It works.

It sure as hell does! I won't hijack the thread with photos, but all you have to do is build the included paper cockpit in the kit. Give it some support, seal it with CA or lacquer paint, fill it with Durhams, and the thing will pop out of the makeshift mold easily! Fix the male mold with putty, I prefer Bondo auto glazing putty, but who cares, and you have a mold ready for stretch forming!

I need to get some of that!

By the way Chris, how did you desaturate for your Winter scheme? I've tried close to a dozen methods in PS, but nothing has come out looking nearly as good as yours. Have you thought about sending it to Chip?
