FGMM Spad XIII (Eddie Rickenbacker) - 1:72

Here's my most recent FG model. This model is my first attempt at building from a pre-sealed parts page. See my thread on spray sealing for more info on technique: Spray sealing finished models Originally I just picked a FG model to be a quick build to see if I needed to change any techniques for the new sealed surface (which I did, but only minor changes), but it came out quite nice so I figured I'd enter it. I used 30 gauge wire for the rigging, guitar wire to stiffen the struts, a toothpick tailskid, and straight pins for the free spinning wheels and prop. Everything else is stock. A nice little build.

Thanks for looking!

Cmags;
Very nice FG build. I have not tried any of the Bipes yet. Yours turned out really well, I have learned that clear coating after printing is good, I have done it on all my models and had decent sucess at it, just don't do it on rainy days. Sometimes it gets a light coating of the spray that turns dust like. Any ways Great Job!!

Beautiful Spad Cmags! It turned out really well. At first I thought it was a larger scale until
I read your post. Congrats!

Ron

A fine example of an FG model of a famous airplane. Thanks for the info on techniques and materials.

Superb build of a marvellous aircraft - FG did good here, and you improved along the way. Very nice indeed

PS... I'd like to see one of those shots as the P.O.T.W

I'll take it under consideration - but I was chastised for favoring aircraft recently so I've been trying to broaden the scope lately

I know what you mean... the P.O.T.W we have now is brilliant - and NOT an aircraft.... sneak it in under the wire at worst... they can only SHOUT at you :D
