Atlas D/Mercury Atlas/Atlas Agena

Needed a bit of a break from all my massive bombers so I got started on this little project. So I am almost done with CAD for the Atlas D rocket which will eventually be released as an Atlas D ICBM, the Mercury-Atlas and the Atlas-Agena. Hopefully I can do the other versions, Atlas C, Atlas F and Atlas-Centaur from this kit as well. Started this at 4 PM, now 9 and I'm getting ready for unfolding. Going to try and get the kit finished over the weekend and released on Monday so I can back to the "big" kits. Think I can do it...? :D

Oh yeah, almost forgot, scale will be 1/48, since all the other Atlas kits are in 1/96 or smaller, I think.

I have a bunch of up-close Atlas-D pictures if you want them.

That'd be great, thanks!

Ok, finished all the parts, sans engine nozzles, for the basic Atlas D. Cutting it a bit close, but I still hope to have it released tomorrow. Depends on how long it takes to do the instructions...

Anyone want to have a go at building it? I'd like to see how it goes together and don't have the time to (efficiently) build one for myself. I do plan to build it for an upcoming model show, but I can't wait that long! :D

Here's three shots. I might have more. I'll have to dig through my external drive to find those.

Beautiful, thanks! That's a very colorful one, I'm gonna have to do that one next!

I changed my mind, the first version will be an Atlas D ICBM. Since I have better references for the ICBM. Having a lot of trouble finding drawings of Atlas-Agena and Atlas-Centaur...

If you need some close ups of the base or other side, let me know. I need to get out there again. (3 weeks is waaaay too long for me).
