Adam -- No snags yet, but I am building it straight from the box. I look forward to seeing your model with the cut out control surfaces. I am using 65lb (0.2mm thick) stock, which may be too thick. I don't have much experience with 1/72d models, but I have been using this same paper for mini-Trotskiys of roughly 1/90 scale and it seems to be okay so far.

No snags on my end yet either... I also finished my first redraw last night. Hope to have some sort of system up on the website by the end of the week. The new model has an updated, more accurate camo scheme, and is in the markings of a famous General's pilot's aircraft.

Mystery Sentinel

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this posting, but I am taking this as a general L-5/OY-1 Sentinel discussion thread.

I came across an interesting photograph of what is clearly a Stinson aircraft, most likely a Sentinel variation, Serial 418140. The photo is in the Richard Campbell Collection (KOR807) at the U.S. Army Military History Institute. It was taken in Japan or Korea, most likely in 1950 or 1951.

I cannot find Serial 44-18140 in the on-line list of USAAS-USAAC-USAAF-USAF Serials (http://home.att.net/~jbaugher/usafserials.html), nor can I find 418140 in the on-line list of US Navy and Marine Corps serials (http://home.att.net/~jbaugher/navyserials.html).

I wonder if Ryan or anyone else can make an ID of the aircraft type.

That's an L-5 ambulance version all right... Will see if I can get the L-5 expert to ID it.

Since it is an ambulance version, maybe we ought to transfer this discussion to that thread?
