Dave...either it is the camo pattern, or my screen, but doesn't that Nigerian Herc look a little longer than normal?

If you look in the second pic, you can see the second hercules is like a Commercial L-100
The L-100/20 and the L-100/30 are extended fuselages.

Looks like the foreground Herc is a regular C-130

So, i guess that first pic is an L-100 too.

or is just the 20 or 30 designation after the model number that denotes the fuselage length?
LikeC-130H/20 or C-130H/30?

A 10 is regular length herc.

(I also made reference to these in my C-130 redraw thread)

Two NEW Canadian Hercs to add to the collection!

Got a personal request recently from a customer who purchased my two existing Canadian Air Force Hercules kits...

seems he is a Loadmaster (I think thats the term) on Hercs for over 20 years with Canadian Armed Forces out of Trenton Ontario.
(Thats about 3 hours east of me, I have other friends in the Forces there and I have frequented the Base Museum a number of times)
and he has served in the Middle East.

Anyway, he asked if I could do a model of the 319 (his first Herc he trained on and made his first jump from)
or 334, his last Herc.

So, it seemed like a great excuse for me to add two more Canuck Hercs to the store.

One of the cool additions on these models is the Para details.
I was supplied with pics of the Flare and Chaff Ports on each side
and nose of the aircraft,
as well as the Jump Crest that goes on the aircraft after they have made their combat mssions.

Ecardmodels should have these kits up some time this week, so watch for them!

You might also want to check out my Ebay deals thread, for a related offer.

Was recently going through some old...very old...35mm Film Slides...scanning them before they deteriorate.
...and I found a bunch from the 1967 Expo in Montreal.
I moved to Canada in 1967 and attended Expo 67 with my parents.

What I didn't remember was the Air Show at Expo that featured aircraft like the Golden Centennaires Tutor Jets Aerobatic team (later evolved into the RCAF Snowbirds).
Note the 1967 Confederation logo on the nose.
Yes...I published paper models of these planes!

...
But more surprisingly, that Air Show was one of the last public appearances of this Hercules:
retired that same year, this was the first and original RCAF CC130 (1960-67)...obviously equipped with JATO.
And my Dad snapped a photo!

I published a kit of this Herc, without even remembering (until now) that I had seen it in person!
Makes it even more special!

Maybe I will have to find the time to build a complete one.
Anyone else want to build one?

It's always fun digging through old photos, Dave. I do have that Herc printed (not built but printed).

I didn't go to Expo 67, but do remember Expo 86 in Vancouver.
