Speaking of Ensign Pulver, thats another film (from the 60s) that I haven't seen.
A similar story...maybe some sort of sequel effort?

yeah it's a sequel,I don't remember much about it so I can't comment too much on it,I remember being disappointed by it but that doesn't mean it was a bad film just that Mr Roberts was very good.

Dave, no building for the past month or so. A couple of writing/consulting gigs and building toys - I mean demonstration apparatus - for a teacher workshop in November is eating up the time. Flight Academy doesn't officially open until spring so I have time to complete the displays ...

That looks real good Dave. Nice to see a video instead of photo's, gives a better prospective of the model.

Hi Dave,

How about the late war boat with "roll off" racks and a 40mm on the stern?

I converted the old Revell PT 109 to make this one.

In my video you can see the 40mm that I created for the next PT Boat.
I forgot to remove it from the Deck before I started filming.

After attempting to nail down a Camo paint scheme, I got very frustrated
and gave up on the idea.

The only real source of reference is scale model versions of PT Boats.
And I don't want to just copy someone elses mistakes.
(I'd like to make my own! lol)

When trying to nail down an actual paint scheme, I ran into a number of difficulties...
-first, original photos are all B/W
-next, original Navy painting diagrams don't seem to match Navy text directives on paint colours.
-Artist's colour profile artworks didn't seem to match either.
-and finding multiple angles/sides of a paint scheme is virtually impossible in photos.

To be very honest...I'm not sure whether I want to do another PT Boat right now
...I get so lazy about working on the same projects.
And I sometimes find it difficult to go back and work on something like this.

And of course, there are a number of new parts to create, like the roll-off Torpedo Carriers (and Torpedoes!)
I'm just not motivated yet.

Unless I can see an entire paint scheme (more than one angle of diagram and/or photo) and a definite set of colours...
if you really want another model, see if you can supply me with this info.
