PT Boats...and more PT Boats!!
okay, so here is the "Factory Finish" Gray Paint Scheme PT Boat!
same as the green one, an Elco 80' 103 Class PT Boat. 1/48 scale, finished model is just over 20" long. Same kit as the "Camo Green" PT-103, but this is the way this Boat came out of the Elco factory in 1942 as designated by the Navy. Many Boats stayed this way during WW2, and many were painted Green or fully camouflaged. Both kits are up at ecardmodels.com now "Factory Finish" Gray HERE and "Camo Green" HERE

Conversion Kits
And for both PT Boat models, I have created these Conversion Kits.
The Kits will be a free download... but of course you need the base model first. Both kits have the necessary parts to convert the Elco 103 Class model to a different PT Boat. For the "Factory Finish" Gray Paint Scheme, you can build a "fantasy" PT-73 or the famous PT-109 and with the "Camo Green" model, and this conversion kit, you can build a green painted PT-109* or PT-157 "aces 'n' eights" (which is not only cool because of its Chart House "nose art", but it was also the PT Boat that rescued JFK and his crew from the PT-109. *PT-109 came out of the factory inGray...how long it stayed Gray, is the big question. Every discussion is a little different as to when it was painted green...or if it got painted green at all! Whatever your preference, either version is available to you! The Conversion kits will be available through ecardmodels.com (and my site) in a couple of days. I'll post as soon as they are available!

PT Boat Conversion Kits
...sent off today to Chris at ecardmodels.
(I'll put them up on my website too, probably next month when I do the site update) Chris is busy right now with a number of things, so just keep watching ecardmodels. I will also post here as soon as they are available. Just to remind everyone, these are free kits...but you need the base PT Boat model. Some screen grabs of the pages in both kits (below)... Gray PT Boat Green PT Boat

I've never seen PT-109...not really a fan of Cliff Robertson.
But I will have to check it out one day! I watched "Mister Roberts" last night...never saw that in its entirety before. What a great film!

" It is I Ensign Pulver and I've just thrown your stinking palm tree overboard" yep a great film really should mention it in the WW2 movie thread.
