FG Avro Lancaster

This is one I've been looking forward to for awhile now and it looks to be worth the wait. 22 pages for the large version! My only problem is I can't find any reference to scale or WSAM listed.

WOW, even the regular size is 10 sheets and includes a simple dam and an instrument panel for those brave enough to make a clear canopy.

avro scale

I've goten very close by googleing the specs on the full scale plane for wing span, then measure the wing span on the FG printout, convert both to inches and divide to get scale.

I normally do a quick and dirty wing build and take the span to scalemaster with the actual full size span and that clears that right up

On FG's homepage they list the wingspan as 31 inches for the large version which would be 1/40 scale(roughly). I just don't like having to use up ink and paper to calculate scale.

Honestly with FG models even if a scale is stated I still test it, ive run into too many where it was way off

If you want a specific scale Lancaster, there's Gary's on this site, and several from three designers on Ecardmodels.com.

Well I'm not sure if they're listening to us, but FG now has the scales listed. It's 1/40 for the large version and 1/53 for the regular. They've also made some other changes as well so download the latest version before you start building.
