I know what would get your mojo back: a 1/100 P-3/Electra!
(The 1/144 NRL model is mine. I'd be happy to send it for you to study. It's a bit worse for wear, but usable) Les (The Voice of Authority) |

Very neat surprise. When I retired, my wife said, "stop talking and decide". So, I gave myself a year to research and decide about a homebuilt. Kids even bought me the preview plans package for the RV-9 to encourage me. In the end, decided too many other things in life were ahead of a homebuilt - all power to those who decide to make it happen. I barely get the cardstock repaints done in reasonable time. Mine was going to be camo over yellow - but now I can do one thanks to Aaron . And, yes, an L-188/P3 would be very nice also. Regards, John |

Plane tickets are bought, hotel room is booked, vacation has started. IPMC here I come!
I'm also releasing the HP O/400 early. Pericles has it at 95%, and with no major issues, other than possibly sewing his fingers to it while doing the rigging. Get all 3 versions here: https://murphs-models.webs.com/handley-page-o400 |

Wow, 20 bucks for all 7, incredibly a real bargain. BTW, the props for the Lufthansa livery are white/colourless. Better have a look, Murhp.

This is good news. Just sent in my order plus a little extra as a thanks for including the ROKAF C-46.
The JASDF offering (91-1143, U.S. serial 43-4722) is a great addition. The original is an Electronic Counter Measures (ECM) aircraft that was assigned to the JASDF ECM Squadron of Air Defense Command Headquarters at Iruma Air Base. It is now on display at the Tokorozawa Aviation Museum. A British modeler who appears to be a very good researcher (and model builder) has a very informative write up here: https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/...22-1144-scale/ From which I quote: “Most of the JASDF C-46D's were retired out of service after [being replaced in service by Kawasaki C-1s] but three were kept in service; 91-1140, 91-1143 and 91-1145, and in 1973 were converted for Electronic Warfare (EW) training roles for which they operated between 1973 and 1978. These airframes were redesignated C-46ECM however all three were externally different from each other, most notably in the shape of nose-radomes and antenna fits. Of these three ECM variants, two have been preserved and are on display at air museums in Japan: 91-1143 (ex USA Bu No 43-47222) is on display at the Tokorozawa Aviation Memorial Park. 91-1145 (ex US Bu No 43-47328) is on display at the JASDF Iruma Airbase.” I never had the chance to fly in a JASDF C-46, but did have several flights in Kawasaki C-1s. Source of the image of 91-1143 when it was in service, presumably taken at Iruma: https://www.na3t.org/air/photo/BSX00551 An image of the even-more-colorful 91-1138 is here: https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/6812118 Haven't yet determined what unit it was assigned to with that colorful red checkerboard emblem on the vertical stabilizer. The photo was taken at Hamamatsu Air Base, a training base that was the location of the 1st Air Wing. Will keep digging. Don |
