I found something in common with the Wright B flyer in our museum here, and that is a single engine driving two propellers. However, instead of bicycle chains, the use of shafts is a better means of power transmission. The bad news is that if one propeller is lost/ damaged, the other prop will cause the plane to spin unless the engine is shut down quickly.
I love this engineering.

Murph
If you come to our Dayton mini paper exhibition/con, can you bring this model? Should be an interesting comparison. Some of my paper models are at the museum, but nothing this early.

This is Papermate's build. Anything I build would not be presentable to the public.

Designers and builders are sometimes two different people. I have always tried my best AND show you guys what I thought are my best. The not-the-best goes to the trash bin, haha!

Thanks to Papermate for finishing his fantastic beta build so that Murph could put it up on his site. Mine (Russian version) is still languishing but making slow progess.

Don't think there's any problem, Bob.

New refresh for this week: The Antonov AN-2 Colt. Right now the Soviet and Aeroflot versions are available. I'm still working on a Nanchang Y-5 and Polish version with floats.

There are pictures of Aeroflot AN-2 with skis fitted. A lot of them were used east of Ural for communication with smaller settlements,to some degree Mi-4 and Mi-8 replaced them and An-26 came even later . An-2 are still flying in private ventures and most of those planes retain former colors with new markings replacing old ones.

Thank you Aaron.

Busy day today. I added 4 more Antonov AN-2 Colt versions.

There's also a B&W version in the Repainter's Nook that includes floats, skis and wheels.

Is it true that the full size AN-2 is still being manufactured today?
