1/33 Mk. IV Harvard ( T6 Texan) RCAF 412

Another Harvard...this type it is specifically a Canadian built Harvard Mk.IV of the RCAF.

RCAF 412 (CCF4-203) built in 1951, served at four RCAF Flying Schools.
Eventually sold to private owners, it is now part of the Warplane Heriatge Museum collection in Ontario Canada.
And still flies today!

This was actually the first variant I produced when working on Ken Uhrig's original handdrawn Harvard kit.
I decided to finally finish it and with Ken's blessing it will be my first truly Canadian Harvard.

Model is up at www.papermodelshop.com

Well, I was under the impression that this colouring represented the Navy.
(Blue tips, cowling and tail stripes)

But I know what you're asking...that two tone gray paintscheme.
Yes, I will definitely do one of those.

RCN colour scheme

The dual grey colour mix was never on an actual RCN Harvard. I believe all were in the yellow training scheme.

It was on the the Fireflys, SeaFurys, Trackers and the Avengers. For it be on the Harvard is made up. It does look great though

ah....good info...thank you.

I was sure that I read, when looking for info on 20412, that the added blue elements were Navy...other Harvards had yellow or red accents.

I still think the gray paintscheme is worth offering.
I've done plenty of "fantasy" paint schemes on models!

This error report and update applies only to the RCAF 412 model.

I have been playing with the position of the buzz codes on the fuselage...
the 412 Numbers (on the tail section) have always been slightly askew.
Mainly on the left side of the plane.
So I decided to make a small adustment.

But afterwards, I noticed that the RCAF markings were way out of place.
They got shifted (both at the same time) at some point, probably while I was making past adjustments to the model.
(I updated this model back in 2014 and the error may have occurred at that time!)

I don't know how many kits are affected or were purchased.

So...if you have this kit in your stash...check the last page of the kit.
The page with the fuselage parts.
And see if it has the error with the position of the RCAF markings as shown in the attached image.

If so, just toss the kit away and contact me.
I am working on the fix right now, and I will send you the new and updated kit once it is published!
I have to do a test build to verify the new parts so maybe wait until you see the report posted here before contacting me.

Okay, the updated kit (RCAF 412 Harvard) is now ready...

I'm still test building, but I've verified the updated parts, and I'll post a pic of the completed model when its done.

For now, anyone who has the original model, just contact me and I'll send you a download link for the updated model.

Remember to delete the older version to avoid any build confusion!
