1/33 Movie faux Zero (AT6 Texan)

As already mentioned in another thread...
a faux Zero from the movie Empire of the Sun.

1987 Steven Spielberg film about a young boy (Christian Bale)
growing up in Shanghai during WW2 (under Japanese occupation).

Model is available now at ecardmodels: 1/33 AT6 T6 Texan - Mitsubishi A6M Zero (Empire of the Sun Movie) Paper Model
I haven't got the listing posted yet at papermodelshop, due to some technical difficulties, but it will be posted soon.

It seems to me that you have designed a series of different kinds and colors of T-6/SNJ/Texan/Harvard aircraft, now including this hybrid. All great stuff. As are the P-51 Mustangs, the Thunderbolts, the Spitfires, the C-130s, the B-24s, the Centurians, and on and on.

There were enough substitutions before computer special effects, that a series of movie models would be possible. Me-108s filled in for Me-109s in The Longest Day and at least one other film. P-51s in German markings fought P-47s in another film. Skyraiders roared over allied ships in The Longest Day. And Spanish Me-109s appeared in The Battle of Britain (their cowlings were different as they had Merlin engines.)

I think I remember seeing those Spanish Bf-109's.
There was another movie where they swapped aircraft, I can't remember the name though.

I think a Bf109 made from a Texan will look kinda silly.

It would look very silly.
It looks even sillier when tanks are made from others.
The Tiger I in this movie was made from a Russian T-34-85 (and it doesn't look right.
According to the YouTube user "blahhblahh522" (great name) "the tiger in this
movie is a modified t34 to look like a tiger they use this same tank in saving private
ryan and kellys heroes".

(Still don't know how to embed videos on this forum).
