One I will certainly be investing in - when our exchange rate improves!

JSC incidentally are a good company to order from direct - reasonable postage and good packing and customer service.

Pictures courtesy of JSC - from their website.
spotted one major error with atlantic conveyor model from photos.her hull was black when she was part of falklands fleet not blue

Have the same problem here. Same issue with books - costs more to ship a book from UK then buy the book!

But as I say - see if you can get some other modellers to club in - reduces the postage costs dramatically. I managed to do this a couple of time and splitting the mail costs amongst 15 odd models makes things very affordable.
ordered it today 20 euros for model including posting to nz

No her hull was blue when the convoy headed down south. Most photos are black and white from 1982, that's why the hull looks black.

Herky - did you order any others or just the one?

Its on my get list, but I have just bought a book from the UK - and the postage was more then then the book (same story) so it will have to wait a while........

Herky - glad you got good service from JSC. I have always been very happy with them.

Building the two versions of Atlantic Conveyer sounds like it would be a nice project.

Does the kit look difficult or manageable - especially the helicopters that always fill me full of fear!

Lastly i am not an experienced ship modeler in this scale - given that I can do small stuff would it be worth my having a go? Or rather start on something else more basic?

have never done aircraft at this scale before so that will be interesting.gonna run off a few sheets of them.i find that although jsc models are small scale they are probaly the easiest to build as the instructions and diagrams are usually good.if you are good at the small stuff the rest will be simple plus i like the fact jsc ships are waterline.i do wish they would produce more 1;200 scale models though

Thanks for an answer to a difficult question! Appreciated.

Will check finances and see if I can order! Plus maybe one of JSC kits with a couple of small ships - the Swedish or Polish ships. Use it to try and get my hand in........
