JSC - HMS Sheffield & Atlantic Conveyor

JSC have released a rather nice it - HMS Sheffield PLUS the Atlantic Conveyor.

British ships: ATLANTIC CONVEYOR and SHEFFIELD (JSC 409) - JSC (International webstore)

Laser cut parts for the kit are also available....

One I will certainly be investing in - when our exchange rate improves!

JSC incidentally are a good company to order from direct - reasonable postage and good packing and customer service.

Pictures courtesy of JSC - from their website.

In the past have found that, when ordering from Australia, it is cheaper overall to order JSC kits from Orlik. Of course you have to wait a little while until they become available there. When ordering from JSC I have found it cheaper to use Euros as the ordering denomination than $US. There was a glitch in their system that made postage in $US very high. Maybe it is fixed by now as I haven't used the JSC site for a while.

will take that onboard.i normally order from scaldis or zeistbouwplaten if im buying from europe.annoys me that in some cases postage exceeds model price

If you can find some other modelers in the region who want stuff you can combine the postage.

Good luck though. I used to to try and do this here, and most people were not interested.....

Or wait for someone traveling to Europe. That's my normal plan now, which works well!

Agree Herky.

Have the same problem here. Same issue with books - costs more to ship a book from UK then buy the book!

But as I say - see if you can get some other modellers to club in - reduces the postage costs dramatically. I managed to do this a couple of time and splitting the mail costs amongst 15 odd models makes things very affordable.

bit of basic background here;
atlantic conveyor and atlantic causeway were taken up by mod on 14th april 1982.11 days later she left liverpool after hurried refit to convert here into ship capable of carrying and flying on/off both harriers and chinook helicopters.she eventually headed south to ascension island carrying 25 fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft on board.on the night of 25-26 may 1982 she was hit by 2 air launched exocet missiles.3 men were killed before she was abandoned and a further 9 including the captain perished in the sea.she sank 3 days later.along with her went three out of four of the chinooks she was carrying along with 6 wessex helicopters.luckily she had flown off all her harriers before she was hit.
