This is not first model, first was Willift Eagle and another one - Bredford Dolphin You can build the model waterline or not - as you like.
Your question - yes, you have to laminated them onto thick card.

can i suggest another rescale for us shipbuilders.would love to build jsc89 -stefan batory at this larger scale.
