Messerschmitt Bf 109X by Marek
I discovered a gaggle of 1:33 Bf 109X models available singly or as a bundle on the Zarkov Models site. This is a little known variant proposed for export sales, sporting a radial engine on a Bf 109 airframe. While at least a couple prototypes were flown in the late 1930s the design was ultimately abandoned in 1942. Marek has given us a number of "what if" color schemes.

Looks pretty good. it seems the wings and aft of the cockpit are the only 109 parts. fwd looks very "Grumman like", infact the top view in the pics reminded me of the wildcat. Will have to add it to my 109 variants though, you know how OCD goes!

LOL - Yes, I do! Remember - it's not a collection unless you have them all.

Good find! I'd never heard of this airplane.
I am trying to imagine the circumstances that would have led to this airplane being flown in Egyptian colors in the 1939-45 tie frame. Don |

I think Marek is running out of ideas.
