The materials needed for westward expansion. The Santa Fe, California and Oregon trails started on Kansas Avenue in Independence, so they had all the people bringing their stuff to head west, along with cargo headed to the posts and forts along the trails.
The Missouri River floods in the early 1800's ruined Wayne City, so they later left the river at Westport and eventually St. Joseph and Omaha, but in the early 1800s Independence was the first step to the West

sub structure
This one like the previous starts out pretty easy, the parts are removed from the page and then assembled, the keel is attached to the base first followed by the four internal support structures.
One consistency is the color coded substructure components There are only 111 parts on six part sheets with four pages of illustration. I'm using an old camera that tends to yellow the images, maybe I'll use my cell phone cam instead although sepia does fit the time frame.

Freeboard, hull and main deck
This is the freeboard, hull and main deck, there is a dark strip that trims it, I had to make some adjustments for the width, that has since been corrected.

Cargo deck
As with the previous, the main deck of this ship was reserved for machinery and cargo and as with the previous, the internal partitions are placed first, fitting the notches of the sides, make it easy to center the sides.
The corners are rounded so I used a #0 knitting needle to form them. Not too concerned with the top edge at this stage because the second deck will straighten it all out.

Stairs
Before I can add the second deck, I first have to do the stairs, the openings in the second deck are precariously close to the outer tabs to be folded, to do this, I used broad tweezers to support the opening as I folded the tabs.
The two sets of steps are not square but rather, they angle inwards by 3 degrees, left and right are mirror images and care has to be taken to assure left and right placement. The stairs are then added to the second deck before it covers the first deck, these parts are loosely placed for purpose of illustration, nothing is glued down yet.

Passenger deck
After the second deck is nailed down, I placed the internal partitions first followed by the sides.
The second deck superstructure is comprised of only six parts, the fore and aft salons with cabins in the middle, with this in place, I can now add the railings.

The slightly sepia photos are giving the thread a nice atmosphere, I'd say just keep going with that flow.
Do you know the floor plan for the round salons either end of the second deck? Or were they simply open spaces with the furniture free to move?
