Forest, if I'm not mistaken, it was common to have a, "bench seat" within the perimeter of the salons, space in the middle may have had movables such as tables and chairs.

Layout
This is the layout of the R.R. Thomson, a similar ship, note the bench seating around the inner perimeter of the salons, note as well that the forward Gent's cabins and salon were segregated from the ladies cabins and salon in the aft.

Railing and roof
So I added the railing and the second deck roof, you can see where I got a little careless and left a drop of glue on the railing which is comprised of four parts, the front, back and two sides.
Put an exacto knife in the image for scale, next is the transom and pilothouse.

This really has nice lines. How long was it in service?

This particular Hassalo was built in 1880, it served 8 years on the middle river before shooting the rapids in 1888, after brief repair in Portland, it served 4 years on the Puget Sound before returning to the lower river, converted to a tow boat, it was dismantled in 1898

Transom and pilothouse
So, the interior partitions are added first followed by the transom itself, with the transom roof on I then placed the pilot house.

Any chance of making this as a full hull model?

Not a chance bradford, this entire series is waterline only, I have done full hull ships before but they were far more complicated, these models are purposely being kept as simple as absolutely possible as my primary market is for the novice and the general public at large.

Bumpers
Now that the railing is on, I can add the bumpers, six per side, there are no receiving marks for the last two so they have to be, "eye-balled", one is at rest parallel with the edge of the Cargo door, the last one is deployed being even with the end of the engine room.
As with all of my models, time is a critical factor, my objective is not to see how well I can build it but rather, how FAST I can build it as I have four more ships to do asap, if someone with more time, patience and skill were to color the edges, this would be a much better model. Wheel and wheel deck are next.
