Lockheed Vega and Electra

FG has listed in their "coming soon" list a Lockheed Vega and Electra. With the Amelia Earhart movie coming out I hope these will sell well. If the designer is reading this-Roscoe Turner's Air Express (PLEASE!)

That will be a couple of good choices and I'll put in a second for the Roscoe Turner plane.

Not to be greedy, but I would love to see FG produce the line of beautiful single-engined Lockheeds of the late 20s and early 30s: Vega, Sirius, Orion, and Air Express.

Don't forget the Altair! The Lockheeds from that era were so colorful and sleek looking any of them would make a great model.

How could I have forgotten the Altair?! When I read your post, Wayne, I immediately thought of the Kingsford-Smith's Southern Cross, but now I discover that the US Navy also used the Altair as the XRO-1, the first Navy aircraft with a retractable landing gear. LOCKHEED Altair 8E < History of Airplanes

Yes! We must have the Altair, too!

Don, Revolution in the Sky has an interesting photo of Roscoe Turner in a business suit, spats, and bowler hat getting into the XRO-1. I would also love to see the army Y1C-23 and -25 in bright blue and yellow.

Somehow, Revolution in the Sky has escaped me until now, but I am immediately ordering a copy.

Meanwhile, we just returned from Amelia, which I thought was a terrific film. Leaving aside the shots of Amelia Earhart flying a Buecker Jungmann in Swiss markings (presumably a stand-in for her Kinner Canary) I found the airplane and flying scenes, including some seamless transitions between a non-flying replica of the Fokker F.viib and CGI, to be outstanding.

That's great to hear about Amelia.A couple of the airplanes were provided by a local aviation museum here in the twin cities.

I MUST visit this museum some day. What a wonderful collection of airplanes! I'd love to get close up to that Stinson Model A Trimotor!
