B1 and OOM Droids 1:50 and 1:35

I originally designed these in 2007, and initially made them available only in 1:50 with 1" bases. The were the first of my fully poseable paper figurines, building on what I learned with the Stormtrooper 'Paper Soldier' design.

I've repatriated them into my IMS line of figures (R2 was the first) and they will be shortly followed by the STAP speeder (again, designed in 2007 as part of the Paper Soldier line) made famous in Episode I. They are now available in 1:50 and 1:35, and with 1 meter (scale) bases (to match the IMS and PPX series), rather than the standard 1".





They are available in my store (check the signature line) to registered users (for free).

Awesome build! It's been a while since I built any myself, how did you find the assembly?

mostly easy, i had a little trouble with the chest area and the waist, but i figured it out. not too hard, and they are pretty quick builds comparitively.

i didn't know what one peice was (i thought it was an extra, maybe?), untill i checked back here and discovered it was binoculars, lol!

i made some more droids, and i am going to enter them in my county fair as a papercraft. i was wondering if you had any ideas for a diorama?

I would say place them in the middle of a fight with a Jedi, but I don't have a mini for that yet (unless you count my Kyle Katarn kitbash). Zooming through foliage and stalking through underbrush would be evocative of the first few scenes with them in it. Armorman has some great tips on making paper jungle although the link escapes me.

They look great! The only suggestion I can make, is what I do with my own, pinch the upper joint halves together; you'll find them a little more stable (although with a little less 3d effect.

Note that there is a great AAT model here: Main, I've no pics of it handy, but I made an interior for Ghost's turret, meant to fit the OOM commander. He has it available on his site I believe.

i have a lamentation... i made the battle droids in 1/35... so the 1/50 (i assume) tank looks a little... well, little. ill have to add a note that says "not to scale"... however, i do think that it adds a lot to the set as a whole, and i would not have found the tank without you. thank you, sir.
