Mammoth Mark I (C&C Papercrafts)

So I just finished building this one, which I found at Command and Conquer Papercrafts:

I found it through Lex's site, http://users.ox.ac.uk/~corp1287/index.html
Thanks for the indirect link, Lex!

This is a pretty simple model, extracted straight from the game C&C Renegade. This gives it a low-resolution texture, but it's not distracting.
It has 7 pages, with maybe 40 parts.
It's an all-tab construction, with no skeleton. This lead to some problems, as the entire shape depends on your ability to fold properly. The model also has some superfluous tabs which I removed or modified, since they either overlap or can be simplified.
The biggest issue for me was the tank turret, which is one hefty and very complicated piece. Very difficult to fold and glue, and there are several mistakes; mainly, some rectangular polygons have been split into triangles and are not symmetric from left to right. Some score lines also seem misplaced. I think you can cut off the offending triangles and do an edge glue, though I didn't try it.
Another problem with the turret for me is that it sags and lifts off slightly, as the entire body is pretty flimsy. This can be easily fixed if you just add some support, though it really doesn't bother me. I didn't have any other problems, and everything fit pretty well.

Overall, it's a pretty easy and fun build, especially if you like sci-fi tanks. I'm a big fan of the games, so I totally enjoyed how it came out.

Anyways, here's the build!
I Printed on:
65 LB (176 g/m^2), 8.5"x11" paper
with a Canon Pixma 5000

With no scaling, it came out to be 23cm x 12cm when completed

Edit:
Alright, so attaching just doesn't want to work. Says failure to create temporary file. So I'll just leave the links for now, sorry about that.

It has happened to me, too, when trying to link from other sites. Cumbersome but effective solution is to download the images you want to share to your desktop or wherever, then upload them as attachments.

In your case, of course, you already have the photos on your harddrive, so just attach those.

Or perhaps there was some other problem? If so, sorry I was overbearing.

I was just worried about them being too big Rick, since nobody seems to post full shots anymore. Think it's alright for 640x480?

Leif: the problem is I resized them on Photobucket and was too lazy to do it again Thanks for the tip though, I'll try to stick to local files in the future.
