1/33 lebed vii imperial russia
Has been awhile since I did any kind of review.. Purchase this yesterday from ECardmodels...(a very addicting place to visit )
Write up about the model is copied from Ecard.. The Sopwith Tabloid orginated as a pre-war racer, with the second aircraft built winning the 1914 Schneider Cup race for seaplanes. Ordered by Great Britain's War Office for both the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service, Tabloids were used as fast unarmed scouts and coastal patrol aircraft, though a number of unofficial armament fits were devised by crews in the field. Sopwith stopped producing the Tabloid in 1915. The Lebed VII and VIII were unlicensed copies of the Tabloid produced in Imperial Russia, and issued in small numbers to Imperial Russian Air Service units in the fast scout role. This paper model builds a Lebed VII flown by No. 21st Air Squadron during 1914. Paper Model Details: 108 parts on five pages, with five diagrams (including rigging) and eight wire-part templates. Full cockpit, 3-D rotary engine with individual cylinders, layered wheels, rolled struts, and wing spars with airfoil formers. Degree of Difficulty: 3/5. I printed my copy out on 67lb Vellum Bristol.. I like the graphics. Nice thin lines, plus the colors look right to me. Pages were printed out at letter size.. everything fit except for page "3", which I re-printed on some legal card. My overall opinion, is that this is a good model for the price, and should build up into a nice subject of a rare early bird. More than happy with the purchase. Hope to do a build thread at some point. My printed copies... Showing page 3 not fitting... |

I'm looking forward to seeing your progress on this one. Smart move on the photo-etch. Trying to cut out those spokes might just put me over the edge.

There are several spoke tutorials that would accomplish this task.
