Combination plastic and paper model kit!

Look what I got for Christmas! A 2012 re-release of AMT Man in Space kit. it contains 5 plastic NASA rockets:Saturn 1B, Mercxury Redstone, Mercury Atlas, Gemini Titan II, and Saturn V. 1/200 scale. Plus, includes a papermodel Saturn V LUT/MLP and diorama launch pad.

Doesn't look like they spent a lot of effort in the papermodel. I might try rescaling Alfonso's MLP to 1/200, and looking up the correct towers for the other ships.

Unfortunately, right now I'm recovering from bone graft surgery, so no Arthritis medication till it's healed. So my hands are all swelled up and clubby. No modelling till summer, it looks like. Great incentive to recover!

The model has build and decal placement instructions, but no paint guides.Only the box art. So I went to Revell's website, and downloaded their instruction manual for the Saturn V rocket, which has an excellent paint guide. For the other four rockets I pulled photographs off the web.

I've gotta think about how to improve the papermodel diorama.

Good luck with your recovery !

I know from personal experience how frustrating it is to have time to model and not be able to do it.

In 2011, my immune system attacked my nervous system.
During April and May, I was in a wheelchair in a nursing home unable to walk or use my hands.
That summer, I started a model but my hands would not work well enough to finish it.
In December of 2013, I had the satisfaction of finally finishing the model.

Hopefully, your recovery will be at least as good and perhaps better than mine.
Both of my feet are numb and half of one hand is numb.
My goal was to recover well enough to be able to walk my 95 Lb. Rottweiler again.
In January of 2012, I could walk the dog again.

If you have physical therapy, be religious about doing the exercises and you should have a good recovery.
