Wilhelmshavener Messerschmitt 109 download model

I buy this model direct as a download from Wilhelmshavener kit Nr. 11809 Messerschmitt 109 1/50 scale.

Wilhelmshaven, Papermodels, Cardmodels, Modelkits, Modellbaubogen, Bastelbogen, Papiermodelle, Kartonmodellbau, Kartonmodelle, Architektur

They have somewhat complicated web site and it can take a day for your download link to appear. It work best also in Firefox versus Explorer which would not show the check out cart. The model is reasonable for 3 Euro price.

As the download, you get three page of parts to print yourself, and both German and English written instruction that are detail well. The part sheets they have some small diagrams but you can visualize most of the model simply enough.

It is a download of a very old model and it is soft in color and is appealing. The model when you buy is not the model really they picture on the web site which is in different color (tan and brown) and with bomb. On the instruction page is a photo of the model also, and it vary somewhat in the nose area I think from what you make. The model it says on the instructions Messerschmitt 109 G/K but when I make the nose, it resemble more the 109 D or E. But then I compare the model to photo online of actual airplanes and it has detail of the E, F airplane, but also the G. I do not think it is particularly one type of Messerschmitt. But it is an old model so I forgive.

The wheels are printed to the bottom of the wing. But you get seperate wheels and parts to make the under gear if you want it lower. The exhaust pipe, antenna, machine gun valleys, they are all seperate detail to make.

Here is some of the work I make so far... It is a good somewhat easy model.

Oh Oh Hay they have a cool paddle wheel steamer for 3 euros (how much is that in US dollars any how?) it is in my favorite scale for ships 1:250 scale! Too cool. Good work on the ME also. I enjoyed the ME-109 from Fiddlers green that I am working on, but I may be ready for a bit more detailed model.

I convert monies here.... www.xe.com

according to today, 3 euros equal $4.09 USD

I see that paddle wheel boat. It say it is the first boat that was launched at Wilhelmshaven (Wilhelm's Harbor/Haven).

My first paper model was the Wilhelmshaven F4 Phantom. When I'm employed again and can purchase models, it's 3rd on the list of models I'll buy (behind the Halinski and WAK P38's).

I remember those planes well - built quite a few of them myself, actually. I grew up in Wilhelmshaven, so I was sitting right at the source. Back then most toy shops and book stores carried these models. It was so much fun to pull a stack from the shelf and leaf through them. So much cheaper and so much more fun than plastic kits!

Cheers,

Oliver

KGL also has a build thread for this model over in aviation. I got confused when I didn't see my reply in this one.
