Question about GPM Bismarck

Does anyone know if there was an upgrade done by GPM on their 1:200 Bismarck between 2006 and 2011? I have the chance to buy a 2006 version (with extra Laser Cut Frames) at a good price, but I don't want to get a kit that's way off the mark.

I know the 2011 version is pretty good - a friend built one.

Cheers, Danny

Well...the best BISMARCK paper model to my opinion is the latest scale 1:200 Halinski model, for scale 1:250, which also can be re-scaled of course, is the HMV model of BISMARCK, so I would not bother for the old GPM model.

But the OP wasn't about which kit is the best -- it was a question specific to the GPM version.

You sure it is "2011". The kit was released in 2011 and 2006. But I haven't seen any bearing the 2011 year on the cover.

If in doubt, go for the latest release. But a 5 year difference in this releases that use the same cover art probably means nothing changed radically.

Edit, just found a photo of the 2011 release. It is the exactly same cover art as the others.

Probably nothing much changed. Usually when they make significant changes to the design the kit is released under another catalog number.
The previous incarnation of the Bismarck in GPM was #28 at 1:300 scale in the 1990s ore something like that.
