Looks like a beautiful model. I still remember reading Willi Frischauer & Robert Jackson, The Navy's Here! The Altmark Affair (London: Gollanz, 1955).

In February 1940, Altmark was carrying British merchant sailors who had been captured by Graf Spee. The ship was intercepted by HMS Cossack, commanded by Captain Philip Vian. A boarding party from Cossack armed with rifles and bayonets released the prisoners. Unsubstantiated legend has it that some of the boarding party ere armed with cutlasses. Vian had a distinguished wartime career, eventually commanding the Eastern Task Force at Normandy and the British Pacific Fleet carrier force in 1945.

Altmarck returned to Germany, was renamed Uckermarck and continued in service as a supply ship for surface raiders until damaged beyond repair by an internal explosion at Yokohama, Japan, on 30 November 1942.

Clearly, a model of a very historic ship.

Don

This is not a new one. Hamburger Modellbaubogen Verlag (HMV) is indicated as publisher which released this model in about 2008. Schreiber Verlag just seems to distribute the HMV model.

You`re right, this is unusual.

Maybe this is a consequence of growing internet business and they start to spread their offer? GPM does like this: You can get all GPM-products and those of several other publishers - Some kind of diversification?
