What mistakes specifically?
I know the landing gear is not located correctly. I is not in the wing, but rather forward of it I just built it and it looks good. Isaac |

Cool! I used to see one of these parked on the tarmac at Cable Airport in Upland, California.

Cool choice! I built a plastic one from Italeri years ago. Looking forward to your build.

AN-2 complete with pics
Guys
I recently finished the GPM AN-2 Colt in 1/33 scale. I must say this is only the second time I have built a bipe. This one was really fun. The biggest issue was the glass wrap around windshield. I had to fabricate it in pieces. I wish there was another way. Vac forming in one piece would be difficult. The flying wires are music wire cut to length. Please note that the kit instruction is wrong with the wires, so you need to consult a photo site like airliners.net. Also, the landing gear is mounted just at the tip of the wing leading edge and not in it as in the instructions. I did purchase the pre cut laser frames and the wheels which are a help especially the wing ribs. I selected to join the wings with dowls insead of the paper box center section which is difficult to attach and is weak. Beef up the landing gear struts with music wire as it is heavy and needs support. It was a fun build. I was inspired when I actually went into a captured North Korean plane while visiting the war museum in Seoul, Korea. Impressive in size. Cheers Isaac |

Thanks for the info on this new issue, foxbat, and for sharing the photos of your build of the earlier version, Isaac.
I used to see one of these flying around Seoul Air Base in the mid 1980s and there is (or used to be) one at Geneseo (New York) Airport that used to fly around overhead during the Flying Aces Club Nationals. A very impressive airplane that looks like a visitor from the 1930s, but has done very useful service all over the world. Don |

Foxbat,
Good luck with the model. . .don't know why GPM sometimes has issues like the ones Issac experienced (see related threads on GPM's Me-262). If you're interested there's a fun video to watch here on the start-up sequence for this rather large bi-plane. cbg
