WAK Covenanter Tank

I am new to paper modelling and was looking at tank kits and came across the WAK A13 Covenanter kit WAK01-2016 but there is another the same but different WAK LAS 1601. One looks laser cut the other paper. Being new to the game do you have to buy both kits as the Laser kit seems short of extras like the stowage boxes and other bits. I have looked at other kits and have seen similar. I am a bit confused. It seems a bit different to buying plastic kits when you get the complete vehicle.

The booklet itself gives you the entire tank, internal formers, tracks, fiddly bits.
The laser cut set is usually those parts where you need some backing material(former, road wheels, and track pads) and is not the entire tank.

If you want to experience the whole tank, build it from the booklet, if you want to save time and your hand, buy the laser set in addition

On their website they show the main kit plus two optional laser cut accessary kits. One is a parts kit (which usually includes the heavy laser cut formers and other "hard to cut" pieces) keep in mind you use these laser cut parts along with the kit - not in place of. They also offer laser cut tracks as a second laser cut accessory kit. I highly recommend the laser cut tracks - it will save you weeks if not months of work plus they look outstanding.

Put it simply, laser parts are like PE. You don't buy PE without buying the base model first

PE = photo etch. Photo etched metal provides a thin, crisp detail. Used to detail
models. It's really good for very small, fine parts.

Ah, sorry for using the abbreviation without explaining. From your plastic model background I have assumed you to be familiar with the term. My bad there, Texman gave an excellent explanation already.
