Orel 1/33 Pe-3

Post for the Ilya from the Ukraine to NZ was US$10 - after ordering I asked the very helpful Orel folk how many other models I could get in the same package without increasing the postage cost. I was able to squeeze in 2 more, this being one.

Again, the bag...

The A4 cover.

There are 2 pages of build diagrams, and 2 pages of English instructions. The instructions are reasonably comprehensive but a little vague around some of the details like the nose gun compartment and the underwing bomb bays.

There are 9 A4 pages of parts, some already with printed backs and a small piece of clear plastic for the windscreen. A full bombload is provided as are cannon and MG for the nose and rear gunner. Strangely no seat for the gunner seems to be provided in the otherwise detailed cockpit. Maybe the gunner stayed more awake and attentive if he had to stand?

First impression is yep, I like this - although #4 in the orel range it has a better more complete feel to it than the Ilya (#46).

Cool! I've been trying to decide whether to get this Pe-3 or one of the Pe-2s from Gremir or Orlik. Hopefully you'll do a build thread of this kit.

I will but later in the year - in the meantime, if you need any info about what is in the 'box' just give me a yell...

Congratulations for your package, SJPONeill. I bought this one too a few months ago, and it looks very nice, paper and colors are great. Enjoy it! She sure will look pretty once complete.

Looks like a nice model. I agree with Gerardo: the color scheme is very pleasing.

Looking forward to the build.
