M1A1 Abrams 1:25 Fly Model

I wanted some newer models and the Abrams was one of them.
The M1 Abrams is produced in the USA and it's name comes from General Abrams.

It is a main battle tank, the well armed, heavily armored, and highly mobile offensive mainstay of modern armored ground warfare. Notable features of the M1 Abrams include the use of a powerful gas turbine engine, the adoption of sophisticated composite armor, and separate ammunition storage in a blow-out compartment for crew safety. It is one of the heaviest tanks in service.

The kit is in A3 format and consist of loose sheets.

First page is the Polish instructions.

Then 6 pages of drawings follows.

Then two pages with formers

And the last 6 pages are filled with parts.

The kit looks really good with a lot of 3d drawings. The print is not as good as we are used to from Modelik,GPM or Halinski, so there are no 3d print or any other details highlighted on the parts. But I guess on a model like this it's not that important.

The extras for this model are wheels and the barrel

Is this a re-issue by Fly Model? It looks very similar to the original model published in 1994(?) - the colour is different but most of the parts sheets look like the original.

It's a moot point about how effective the Abrams is - certainly it has a very high fuel consumption - the tank may be nearly invulnerable but it's dependent on the logistics train keeping the fuel coming. There are some rumours floating around about the high breakdown rate of the Australian Abrams. At least the Australian Abrams has a fridge to keep the drinks cold.

Regards,

Charlie

I think it's from 1995.The front page graphics are dated that year.
It's an older kit alright but It still look good

Based on the designation under the ISBN on the cover this is the second edition so probably has improved graphics, color and paper. The most recent Fly reprints have the yellow-bordered covers and are virtually completely new versions. This should be a challenging build (I based the "challenge" of armor builds on the wheel count !)
