Crabe-tambour

I forgot to mention a film starring a later sister (T53) Jauréguiberry D 637
"le Crabe-tambour", very atmospheric.

Remarkable cinema. Some wonderful footage of the ship.

Pierre Schoendoerffer made some superb films, including "Anderson Platoon" and "Dien Bien Phu," which we show as part of the film series at the U.S. Army War College.

Thanks for this clip, which gives us some additional insights into K74's project.

The relavence here is that it covers the post war development of the Surcouf

I have this book on my Christmas list. Already have Jordan and Moulin's French Cruisers 1922-1956. An excellent resource. Beautiful artwork and images. Well-informed and well-documented text.

Jordan now edits the annual Warship series. Very high quality scholarship and production.
