Fargo, ND

Might be moving to Fargo, ND and was wanting to know if there were any clubs up in that area.

You're in luck, there's an IPMS chapter right next door to Fargo in MN.

MN, Mankato
IPMS/South Central Modelers
2nd Saturday of the Month, 12:30 Token BBQ, Mapleton, MN.Dan Bauer

You'll have plenty of time for winter modeling and that's a fact!

Yep, like we used to say, "Why not Minot, Freezin's the reason!"

I personally don't mind the cold and snow, just not for 12 hour shifts in it.

Good luck Inky!

I don't mind the cold either, at least it will be better than the 113 degree heat like we had during this summer for days on end.

Texman, I feel your pain! I was stationed at "minot south," Blytheville, AR. 12 hours shifts in the knife-like cold winds....sounds like a fuels guy or, God bless, Security Police guarding B-52's. Am I close?

But, the friends you made....right?

Sorta close. Crew chief on 'Varks. CC and LN, then a -130 FE gig, and some A-10s at Pope.

And yes, the friends. Several folks from way back I still keep in touch with. And some, we toast to absent friends.

Ah Minot....
I was stationed there from June 1977 to March 1995 (yes- same station all them years except for a 6 month stint in Sicily supporting GLCM). I worked on B-52 missile systems, 12 years of it on the flightline.

Born and raised in San Diego, Minot was a big change for me, but I loved it there. I now appreciate smaller cities and changing seasons. Even after leaving there, 70 degrees F is a little too warm for me!!!!

Got used to the weather there, had numerous blizzard parties where we would stay at a friend's house and play video games and eat junk food then shovel him out, helping each other in turn. It was the people that made everything tolerable.

I'd still be there after retirement, but couldn't find a job.

Best Regards,
