Can you give me a brand name. I am not familiar with the term fixative. Sounds almost like a spray sealer. Regardless of what it's called, the results speak for themselves. Did you have to do any sanding?

Major,

Krylon has a couple of different fixatives
http://www.krylon.com/products/paper...er_protectant/
http://www.krylon.com/products/paper...kable_fixatif/
http://www.krylon.com/products/workable_fixatif/

and if your wife or daughter or daughter in law has AquaNet hairspray you could use that too in a pinch

I use the Krylon workable artists fixative. No sanding was required (this time). It works as a surface sealer stopping the paint from warping the paper.

I had to start this build all over again due to a CATastrophe. This is the point I am at now and a picture of the the villain. You may address her as 'Daisy', I am calling her something else (not rated PG).

Sorry to hear about this disaster, Douglas. The new (or repaired?) fuselage looks very good and Daisy looks as if butter wouldn't melt in her mouth.

Thanks Don, yes it is a total 100% rebuild. Daisy is normally a well behaved critter so I don't know what happened there. She has never shown any interest in my models before.

She's got green eyes - she's obviously 'teh debil'!
Sorry to hear about your incident. My BF109 sits with mangled prop's due to either Isis or Osiris, and I abandoned an F1 car build due to similar mangling of tires so I can definitely feel your pain.

We could probably start a thread somewhere of stories members have of cats who've ruined/damaged/delayed models. Mine would be my cat who made off with the canopy of a Curtiss SC-1 Seahawk in his mouth, hid it under a runner carpet where it got stepped on, and reduced to a fine styrene powder.

ohh! this plane is very nice and the propeller looks real... no wait, is it wood or paper? well, if it's paper I'm doubly astonished!
sorry to hear about the incident. fortunately there's no four legged walking here, except me under the table searcing for little pieces I know I won't find for sure! (I belive there's a small black hole under the desk of every respectablepapermodeler).
about your model and fixatives, I've a question but I read Maj. Davenport just hit the thing. I don't want to bother this thread so if you know a specific thread or a section here in the forum where I can find out some information about fixatives etc. thanx!!! :D
