Smile Marek Marathon Spad 61 1/50 Build

Friends

My actual build. The inter-wars fighter Bleriot SPAD S-61C1 for Ecardmodels contest Marek Marathon.

This interesting and unknow aircraft was used by polish and romenian air forces in 20's and early 30's.

My Marek model in 1/50 scale is a traditional desing, fuselage build in sections. For this scale interior is poor, but I have basic improvements seat belts and control stick. In the pics the atual stage of construction.

Is my first 1/48 - 1/50 model but after this contest, I build 1/100 version

The SPAD sounds like the F-104 Starfighter of the inter-war period. Apparently it was disliked by Polish pilots and killed a fair number of them, when the wing attachment failed.

Regards,

Charlie

Thank's people!

The S61 was rejected by the French Air Force, and despite being a high-performance aircraft for the season (was used in air races in Europe), had problems mainly with structural vibration. The Poles took service in 1935, replacing the Avia BH 33 (PWS A) and PWS 10 ...

Next steps: stabilizers, undercarriage, and main struts.. :D

Thank's people!!!!

My marathon ritmin is slow :( but few progresses in S-61.

I'm building the top wing and struts, the fitting is excellent, a perfect choice to begginers in biplan aircraft subjects.

The central cabane Marek recomend is wire, but to finished work is need a paint job in OD paint (in the next step ) I'm belive in some days I'm finished and the next model in marathon is MC-200 :D
