Ok - this time I'm posting an update, but it has nothing to do with the model. On Thursday I received a job offer! For those that didn't know, my company before was an automotive supplier that went out of business the beginning of April. I've spent this summer as a 'stay-at-home' dad looking for jobs. After receiving no sniffs in Michigan, I managed to get into contact with a company in Chicago - and after interviews and such I accepted a very nice offer (getting a decent raise after being laid off - not bad ).
Not sure what this means for building models and anything else. I don't have details of when I start yet, and when I do I'll be commuting back and forth until my dearly beloved can find a job in Chicago.
It's so nice to be able to get back to living life, even if it's going to be hectic work moving and figuring out what's going to happen with my house.

Congrats on the new job Dan! I was out of work for six months this past winter and I know how good it feels to finally find employment.

Cheers, Corbin

Great news indeed!
You not only have a new job, but also better paying one :D

That is excellent news, Dan!!! Good luck with all the commuting and moving hassles, but Chicago's a pretty nice place in my opinion.

Congrats Dan, I had six months off after back surgery late last year - early this year and are in the process off looking for more suitable work, I hope my luck is as good as yours.I hated being home all the time, except for the modelling time that is. Congrats again.

Am delighted to hear this good news, Dan. Even though I foresee some interference with model building, I can only rejoice at a friend's good fortune. It looks like you landed on your feet. I anticipate that you and your family will enjoy living in Chicago with lots of interesting things to do.

All the best for the future,

Don
