Chris,

If something was wrong on that cowling you must have hid it well as it looks great to me! This thread has inspired me. Last night I purchased this kit and I look forward to using your techniques on it. I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Jeff,
Congratulations, and watch out for that tail wing assembly!

I just started drilling the attachment holes on the bottom of the fuselage when I noticed that the holes are not centered on the bottom piece.

The tank assembly was straightforward and for the most part fit well. I think the straps are a tiny bit short, though.

Mounted (and centered!);

Still fiddling with the cowl, although I probably shouldn't. This is usually the point where I mess things up good.

Closing in on completion!
Chris

Finished! Windscreen was no problem, but I had problems with the props. I couldn't get the design to work and I had to trim down the prop base to make them work. I suspect this was me and not the designer's error.

So to review the kit, I'd say that it's an attractive model with good coloring. The fit overall is very good, with the exception of the tail assembly and several minor misalignments. There's some nice detail as well. I would not recommend this as a starter kit, but an experienced modeler should have less problems than I did!

I really like the look of this plane and I think Marek did a good job of capturing the prototype's appeal. This is probably the most ambitious plane kit I've done so far and I'm happy with the way it came out!

Excellent build!! Your skills shine through on this one! I agree, thank you for taking us all through this build. I'll down load this for reference when I get a chance to build mine.
