Siemens-Schuckert D-III Star

Better late, even real late, than never. Although my lack of experience meant that it took me a long time to build, with long periods of abject fear manifested by procrastination, I have to say that I truly enjoyed this one.

I cannot say enough good things about the kit; it was well thought out, fit very well and although difficult for a beginner everything went together very well in the end. The result, though not perfect is extremely satisfying. I really learned a lot durng the build, too.

Thanks to Mareck and the Ecardmodels Store for the free model. Sorry I took so long to build it.

Thomas, what are you talking about, "The result, though not perfect....". Geez!!! I expected to see some exhaust coming out of the pipes and this thing start to taxi down the runway. That is an EXCELLENT job!! Thank you for sharing. I have this kit, too and have been putting it off. Not now!

Nice job Thomas. The cowling and rigging are particularly outstanding, as is the cockpit.

Thumbs up

Really nice aircraft, and a build that does full justice, so what if it did take a long time... who was clock watching ? no matter the time to build, but the finish which counts - your finish is top dollar be proud... indeed be VERY proud

Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement.
It really means a lot (snif, snif).

Just don't ask me to beta build anything you want to market this year!

This is a truly beautiful model, Thomas!

It's a great-looking airplane to begin with and your build looks flawless to me. I just bought this model so that I can see what you started with.

It will be worth waiting to see your next build. And any details you'd care to share about the techniques you used on this one, and any in-progress photos you may have will, I am sure, have a rapt audience.

Don
