I don't know what it means to be on the friends list but you can count me in. Beer and pretzels are always welcome!

    Hi Rick:

Many thanks for the welcome. That means more to me than you can imagine! I'm not sure it was me that shut it down though - the postings had dribbled off the only a few each month and it was costing about $500.00/month - not exactly worth the price. It was a bit groundbreaking in it's day though. To the best of my knowledge it was the first mailing list for card modelers. (I didn't start it though - it was first created by a gent whose name escapes me as just a list of people that copied each other with each mail message. With his permission I just set it up on L-Soft as a proper mailing list.) We attracted some of the world's best designers at that time and it was a real treat to be able to have a conversation with the best. Best of all, I really learned a lot. There's still a lot to learn as I have been by lurking about this forum for quite a while. Not that its worth all that much - I'm not sure this old dog can make much use of all this new learning. Seeing what some of these builders turn out just leaves me shaking my head and feeling like a klutz. I always was much more of a model collector than a builder. The biggest attraction of paper models has always been that I don't need to paint them - I'm color blind, you see.

I just bought a laser engraver/cutter - just waiting for delivery. Perhaps that will make up for my sloppy cutting skills and spur me on to a bit more model building. Damned if I can be accurate with some of these 2-3mm Polish formers.

    Cheers,
    King

Jack Graham!! That was the guy that started the old mailing list! Ask me quick and I can't remember my own name these days!

    Hi Rick,
I am wondering why I do not have permission to download files? I am logged in, but am still getting the message "You are not authorized to download files".

    Hi rick,

Thanks for changing my username to HUEY as i'd like to keep that. i've been limiting myself to private messages to Ash as there's nothing yet for me to contribute to the forum. i've stopped for a year and a half with the hobby, the old forum was getting too complicated for me aside from my work. then when they moved again... i just dropped the hobby compeletly. i'm glad i stumbled into the old gang and it feels like home again. still trying to get into the groove but i've sent home my paper model booklets and without good paper supplies... i'll just comfort myself viewing all the great model builds on the site. thanks for bringing everyone back to the fold.

    regards,

    Kit

    Hello Rickstef,
How does one go about this, am not at all familiar with Forum etiquette.
Apparently you spent more than a couple of days in the "Lage Landen".
But Aux Cay by me. Do I press the "Befriend rickstef" key ?
You're dealing with someone who has just reached 69 here, so careful with digilingo if you please!

Count me in, although I fear I am more of a listener than an authority in the world of card shredders. Any rules?, duties etc.?
