I should hope so, a contest of such miniscule proportions wouldnt be complete without him

Yes - he knows, figured he would have chimed in with something by now! He must have something grandiose in mind heh heh

I'm here. I know. I wait. Grandiose? Heh, maybe not so much. I am stretching myself a little (pun intended).
(Yoda on) Closer to us he comes, each build he makes smaller. Strong in this one, is the skill.

Hi All,
Feeling a bit like a slow old nag at a horse race, here is my second entry into this fun Micro Mini Contest. I chose the JMSDF Oyashio Diesel/Electric Fast Attack Submarine. From a full page model down to a 1/700 scale size this is what I started with. I didn't even bother with trying to copy it out on card stock having learned my lesson with the Hellcat. It went right on to copy paper and under the scissors. Rather than keep the hull as a one piece affair that gets folded and glued, I simplified it by separating each section, rolling them and gluing the bottom seam. With the individual parts I telescoped the aft end as it seemed the best way to go about it. The front end got stacked onto strips glued to the inside of the forward hull. After getting it all glued together and touched up with a Pitt Pen, I built up a base from some balsa wood and colored with a dark brown Sharpie Marker. I painted the fins and propeller section with some Model Master Metalizer in Brass. I would have to say it is pretty close to a 1/700 scale. Here it is in comparison to my old Hobby Boss build in 1/700 scale.

You guys are annoying...glad you are all micro annoyances...
Heres my feeble attempt...this would be a "MINI" entry. I was gonna go small, but then I saw the print sheet! LOL I also wanted to try to use all the parts and not modify anything. This is my print sheet...all four pages of Gary Pilsworth's C-57D Starcruiser from Forbidden Planet. The reduction was 50%, and then I had to shrink things a little more to squeeze it all on to the page. So I don't know what the final scale is ...but I don't think it qualifies for the Micro (which isn't fair when you factor in the pain it caused my poor tired eyes!) I removed the small amounts of gray colouring and printed on a silver paper...its kind of a grainy metallic silver finish. Yes, I used ALL parts...all 21 formers are under the angled top and bottom discs. I used all the ring parts for the two domes and the Staircases are all complete. Only thing I altered was, I cut the tabs off the long edge strips and glued some light cardstock to the back of them. Just thickened them up to edge glue to the upper and lower disc parts. ...and I just realized, you can't see the staircases or the center Landing Support in those pictures! so, heres one more pic of the Starcruiser sitting on my SciFi shelf: Thats it!...thats my MINI entry
