Fifth Element Air Taxi (mini)

For a mini entry I'm going to build Dave Winfield's (aka airdave) air taxi from The Fifth Element. I'll post photos when I have something to show. Haven't decided on a micro entry yet.

please use the other thread for general questions and chatter - I will move this one over later - gotta take care of the kids for now. Would like to reserve this thread for people to say what they are building and final pic only

I will just be putting all the entries up for fan favorite voting then people can judge based on their own criteria

Well, I already started my build thread, but to make it an official entry.

I am building Grzegorz Nowak's F6F3 Hellcat in USS Saratoga markings. Original scale 1/200, my build's scale, as close as I can figure, around 1/700. I guess that qualifies as a Micro build.

My Entry = Micro Stomp Rocket Saturn V Build

Here is my build of the Saturn V Rocket. It is exactly 2.65" long [6.731cm]. (2.65" x 1643.77358491 = 4356" or 363 ft tall).

It is designed to be a Stomp Rocket. It fits inside of the PVC Launch Pipe. Flys straight and true when launched as a blow dart!

The nosecone capsule is not replaceable!

Notice that it fits very nicely on a "penny". Also one of the photos shows it next to the 28" tall big brother Stomp Rocket.

What's the only part that wasn't used from the 28" tall one? The inside PSI Tube.

Added the 5th engine cone/bell that is missing on the 28" version, however.

Stabilizer Fins were doubled, (folded in half and glued) before realizing that one side is black the other white, in other words it could of been built by just cutting the black of the fin and using the white back. Reason why I mention this?
-besides the engine cones the fins are the smallest parts on the whole rocket, folding them in half and gluing was a 3-try endeavor.

The small engine cones were the hardest parts to do. Lost 3-of them after building (somewhere on the floor, or in the trash bag located under work table)

One of the fins (very last part to get installed) is part of my keyboard. Saw it fall, but can't get at it! That is when I realized that the back works better than trying to fold the things in half again!

Whole project took 4-hours start to finish. Not bad for someone with 10-Thumbs (broke both hands during a mountain bike crash - hands have troubles doing the small stuff).

Looking forward to seeing the competition!

Best regards,
Mike Bauer
