Micro-Mini Fokker Entry

This entry is Ernst Udet's Fokkker E.III reduced to 1:100 and coming in at a little over 5cm.
Available free from Modele kartonowe it is Fokker EIII #105/15.
It is an OOB build with the exception of the missing cowling piece scratch built and added.

Beautiful build even at such a small scale.
I love the E.III and would love to build it but the landing gear looks awfully difficult.

Very nice. What % did you print at to get 1:100?

Incredible work, Douglas!

It's a perfect little replica of this ever-popular airplane.

Thanks for the kind comments guys.

Don
It is my favourite WWI monoplane. I may have to buy the new GELI release.

Joe
The gear was not really difficult. I just rolled and added one piece at a time to the center spine, let the glue set, dry fit, and repeat till done.

There is a good thread on converting scales here SCALE CALCULATOR. How To Up And Down Scale Models. it has links to software (by Frank Crenshaw) and a spreadsheet that are both good for scratch building.

So in this case using Stev0's example from the thread

1/33 scale is the original model size ...
I wanted 1/100 scale ...
I divided 33/100=0.33 or print at 33.0% of the original size
In my case I printed the entire model (6 Pages) on one sheet of cardstock at 32.78% ( close enough )

Thank you for the information and the links. I have the WWI
German tent hangar in 1:100 and figured it would be
easeier to scale down a couple of planes than enlarge the
tent which would be huge.
Thanks again.......Rick

Did you paint the cowling to get that metallic look on it?
