I like the volume of the icebergs and its relation to the ship's size. You say you're not pleased with the outcome, but I don't see why.
To keep the scene to a minimalist representation where everything has a strong symbolic role, how about a tall base. As if you reapped a piece of reality and set it to float in the limbo (of our indifference to climate change, in this case).
Waw! I swear I'm not under medication or the influence of any kind of substance!
In pratical terms what I mean is that eventually a taller base would give heigth to the small pieces you're assembling. Could that be your problem? Looking at the ensemble and feell it flat?
