Micro entry: Neptun motor boat
I couldn't resist , here is my entry:
Shrunk from two pages of 36x43 cm to one 87x51.5 mm rectangle, which means reduction to 12% (scale went from cca 1/24 to cca 1/199). Designed by J. F. Schreiber in 1925 (!). The kit was obtained from some informational leaflet where it was used as an illustration, probably not intended for building . All parts fit perfectly, so the build was pretty straightforward, even in this scale. I hope it was supposed to look this way, because I had no instructions at all. The only details left off were some glue tabs (well, most of them). With the captain standing by the steering wheel, the boat wouldn't look good on a stand, so I put it on a piece of "water". It is made of transparent foil with a boat-shaped hole, ripples are made of glue and the wake was formed with a hot nail. There's also a bubble vortex behind the propeller - made of cotton wool and almost invisible on these photos, but I know it is there . Ahoy!

What a lovely way to display a boat model, and an old one at that! Respect, I'd say, both to the builder, and what he paid his modeling subject. - Leif

Thank you all for your nice comments.
-> Richkat: The water was just a "let's try if this is possible" experiment and I didn't actually expect it to work, that's why I didn't bother to borrow the camera to document it. We'll have to wait for another little boat to draw my attention . Or a tutorial made of hand-drawn pictures?
