A neighbor took a photo of me with my latest build-even put a shirt and tie on for the photo shoot...

Some photos of it in the styrofoam stand used to hold it horizontal so it will fit into my small apartment.

Waht a project!

Next projects will be drawing 1:12 Scale Mercury Atlas and unkown as yet scale of Gemini Titan.

Hope you enjoy the photos!

Thank you for the interest in this project.

Yes, the 1:32 scale Saturn V will be sold as a printed kit. I'll post a thread in the "For Sale" forum threads once I figure a price.

Mike, that thing is amazing! I read the dimensions but they didn't register until I saw the photos. What did it end up weighing? I thought I saw a prelim. number somewhere.

BTW, may I use a photo for my blog?

Thanks for the complement!

Sure on the photo-have several can email you some if you prefer! I'll send you an email for more information.

Was hoping to keep it under 2lbs. Just checked the weight and it is 3.8 oz over for a total weight of 2lb 3.8 ounces [1.015kg].

2/3 of a bottle of Aleenes tacky glue was used for construction!

Starting to get beat up a little moving it around.

I imagine so! Big, flimsy rockets are tough to manage. My big poster/foamboard rockets get pretty dinged up. I had one long rocket made from styrofoam cups (concept from Jim Flis of FlisKits) that I broke three times while trying to transport it to the field. I gave up on that one.

If is was me, I'd would eventually try to launch it. (But then I didn't put the ink, paper and sweat into the build!) Couldn't you carefully run a launch tube into the psi and see if it binds? You could remove a square of the body to inspect the insides and then patch it up?

Mike: Nice work. You should consider offering a scaled-down 1:48 version as well - much more manageable, i.e. you can store and display it in a room with an 8 foot ceiling....

Yes, smaller versions will be easier to work with, fit inside an eight foot ceiling.

Really did this one to test the launch system and the limits of the cardstock.

The launch is going to be questionable due to the mistake I made. A suggestion on how to check might work, still debating if I want to cut into it to see. It would be great to see this one fly, so after working on some other projects, I'll keep thinking about what I'm going to do with it.

If it is launched a video with sound will be posted to this thread.

Thanks for the interest!

Mike

You're gonna need a bigger ... display area for that one! Might need to check on biggest-loser candidates to find a "stomper" to launch it too.

Hi Yogi,

Yes, a bigger area-there is 37.5" from the capsule to my computer wall, the rear has 65" to the entry door. Small apartments aren't made for big rockets....

Only place to store it so it doesn't get banged up? On the couch in its styrofoam stand, above everything that can bang into it!

Waiting on some 3.7 volt micro servos to get here. While I wait, might as well cut an inspection hole to see if the PSI tube is kinked. If it looks ok, will install the servos as part of the parachute deployment system, like they use on water rockets.
